THE RED FLAGS AND GREEN FLAGS IN A MARRIAGE: DID YOUR FLESH PICK THEM OR GOD
?
Matthew 6:33
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
When it comes to getting into a relationship, we need to make sure to seek God and make sure that it is the right connection from him or if it a wrong connection.
We are to take everything to God and get his clarity and make sure we are on the right track and in the right place. We can't lean on our flesh and own understanding when it comes to choosing a partner. We must use the discernment that God gave us and not sit up there and ignore red flags. A sexual connection and/or bond doesn't mean that it is of God. There are many people that get together and are sticking together due to a trauma bond that was created between two people: a man and a woman. In Prov. 3:5 It says trust in the Lord with all your heart and LEAN NOT to your own understanding. We can't depend on our flesh to lead us, but we should only rely on the Holy Spirit.
Proverbs 10:22 "The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it."
A connection from God when it comes to a mate, it will not come with confusion or delusion, but God will make Himself clear in who he has set aside for you. So, how do you know if someone is sent from God?
--Signs they are from God...They support your ministry and are the biggest cheerleader for you. They have peace within them and makes you feel comfortable and you can relax around them. They are emotionally available. Their presence is different than a man or woman that is an unbeliever. They love you as Christ loves the church (man) and the woman believes in the submission as God intended (woman). They pray with and for you and are spiritually grounded and can discuss spiritual things and can learn more about God together.
--Signs they are not from God: They strip you of your peace, anxiety is felt in their presence..they love you for what you do but not as a person: they don't respect your ministry, calling or you as a person and who you are and what God has called you to do.
Amos 3:3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed?
We are not to join ourselves as children of God with people who are not of God and are unbelievers and should avoid marrying an assignment. Yes, you will have trials and tribulations in a marriage, but there shouldn't be constant drama. God doesn't call us to embrace mental, emotional, physical or verbal abuse....even down to financial abuse.
Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
A man or woman of God will have the fruits of the spirit as in Gal. 5:22-23. They should have a genuine love for you, bring you joy, bring you the peace of God, be patient with you as you grow; be kind, good to you, faithful, gentle and have self-control.
Phillipians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengthened me.
Find the strength to leave if you discover that you have married wrong. Don't look at how many years you have been with the person but look at the things they have said and done to you. The wrong connection will set you back years if you aren't careful, especially financially, spiritually and in ministry.
Ephesians 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.
We are to pray about everything and get clarity from God before moving forward with someone in a relationship or marriage. There is no reason to not seek God...Truth be told, the only time we don't want to seek God is when we know He is going to say no about that connection. The flesh wants what it wants, but going about the fleshly way comes with a cost. Choosing the wrong mate can lead you down the wrong road, filled with misery and regret.
Some men and women have found themselves bound up by the spirit of lust, Jezebel and deception and they have a hard time finding the strength to leave.
