WHY BUY THE COW WHEN YOU CAN GET ITS MILK FREE?
Most of us have heard this saying before from more seasoned people, but the words remain true. Ladies...If you haven't heard this saying, then this is about to be explained to you real quick. It is about time that you stop making this mistake so that you can get what you really deserve. First...I will give you a scenario. Here we go!
Mara and Leland have been dating for a year and a half. This young lady has given this man everything. She's given him good sex, kept the house clean, cooked his food, made him lunches for work. She has even given Leland a child and cosigned for a car that he is driving now. Two years is approaching since the start of their relationship and she is looking to get married. Mara feels as if she is worthy of marriage now since she has shown Leland what good of a wife she can be to him. She decides that when he gets home from work and have a discussion with him.
Leland gets home. She fixes his dinner and she sits down with her plate of food. She opens the conversation up by asking him about his day. He responds and that topic is discussed for a few minutes. Leland finishes his meal and she then spills what she has been thinking. She tells Leland about all that she has done for him and even brings her child into the conversation.
"Leland. I have done everything I can to prove that I am the one for you. I have cooked, cleaned, gave you good lovin', cosigned for a car for you and everything else. I have given my all to you. I would like to get married," Mara says. She sits and waits for his response. Leland sits back in his chair, looks her in the eye and says to her, "Mara. I noticed everything you've done. I feel like there is no need to get married. You have given me your all without the ring and marriage. Why buy the cow when I can get its milk free?" Leland leaves from the table and leaves Mara dumbfounded. Mara was expecting another answer and that was not what she was looking for. She sits at the table, suddenly disappointed and full of sadness. Ladies...You are supposed to make a man work to get you! Most men aren't going to want to marry a woman who just gives themselves away to them before marriage. They want that woman to wait until they marry her first. Men like to work for what they want. They want to feel like they have earned something. They cherish things more when they are earned, not given away. Keep that in mind when you are dating. That way you don't have to wonder why men show up, "hitting it for a minute and quitting it the next day"! MEN DON'T WANT ANYTHING THAT COMES EASY! When you keep giving yourself to these men so easily and not within marriage , you can only expect to be hurt and disappointed like Mara. She gave herself...her all to this man and he feels he shouldn't have to make her his wife. It wasn't soon after that conversation that both of them broke up. She moved out and went their separate ways. Leland renews bis relationship with God. A year or so later, Leland courts and marries another woman HE NEVER SHACKED WITH OR TOUCHED! Nyla refused to give up or give in to a man without the ring and marriage. She made him wait. She was obedient unto the Lord and she got picked to be the bride. She honored God, did things the right way and He blessed her! She didn't have sex to make him love her. He took the time to get to know her internally. She valued God over him so he knew he could trust her! Ladies...The main things a man wants is a safe haven for his heart and a woman he can trust, as well as a woman who loves God more than he. Sex is a bonus, for that is not the foundation of a relationship...God is and should be that in your relationship. The relationship that you are in (or soon be to be in) should glorify our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. If it is not glorifying Him, then you shouldn't be in. If that man is not your husband, be shouldn't be "hitting it" and laying up together. That's a no-no. Make a change today and follow Nyla's example. She allowed God to lead her and she obeyed God. She obtained her reward. It's not too late for you ladies in the Mara category. God can still can turn your situation around. Repent and ask for forgiveness. Adopt godly standards. Raise your standards. Close up shop and keep your body pure. Last but not least, STOP ADVERTISING THE COW AND GIVING MILK AWAY FOR FREE! You can't expect something better and different doing the same things you have always done. Wait on God. He's got your back.
